Preface

Welcome to the NCCA homepage. This is the web site of the Norfolk County Chess Association. It is linked to the county magazine En Passant web-site though to get the real value of a super magazine you may be better to subscribe.

The site is intended to provide useful information to members of the NCCA and to people who are interested in playing chess in the County of Norfolk.

Obviously as this site is maintained by amateurs who have busy lives elsewhere, it isn't possible to include all that you might like to see.

However, we do try to include games from Congresses run by the NCCA and to give you a web site with a little for everyone.

Our County sides have done well in recent years. The Captains will usually welcome new faces and you can play for the County at several different levels.

Another group who have done well are the Norfolk Juniors, many of whom have now represented their country.

Old and new visitors are asked to take a minute to mail us your comments about the site and if anyone wishes to become involved in maintaining the site or contributing material, please contact us.

We've welcomed hearing from many of you already including a few Grandmasters: "I found your address ... I hope that you can post the following information in your club, as it may be of interest to chess players. I would also appreciate it if you can add links to my Web sites, if you feel that this is appropriate." Alexander Baburin, Grandmaster

He encourages people to visit his Web pages: Grand Master Square and Chess Net. There is also a free newsletter 'Coffee Break Chess' that you can subscribe to.

Finally, good luck with your chess, and thank you for reading so far.
