We Are Fishing For Family Clues!
Here are some of the folks I am looking for more information on.
James C. Hawkins
Born in Missouri, January 13, 1855 Died- 3/4/1936 in Fulton County Arkansas. He was 81 years, 6 months old when he died, time of Death was 8:00 P.M., He died from influenza with respiratory complications. On the Death certificate he is listed as living in Vidette Township, Fulton County, in Vidette Arkansas. The Informant listed on the Death Certificate is Willie Hawkins, Viola Arkansas. Filed 3/6/1936 by a Mrs. C.E. Roe.
I have been told that he was adopted and that he was a quarter Indian, I believe I found him living with his Grandfather William Anderson and Grandmother Unis Anderson in the 1860 Fulton County Arkansas, Bennetts Bayou Township Census. After looking at the census I believe his Mother could have been Nancy Anderson, who may have died when he was young but I am not certain of this without proof. While living in Baxter County Arkansas he worked as a Blacksmith. He married Estella "Stella" Venessa (White) Hawkins Born-9/?/1860 Murry County Georgia, in Baxter County Arkansas in 1877. They are listed on the 1880 Baxter County Arkansas Census. Together they had ten children their names were Willie Hawkins, Beckie (Hawkins) Easley, Charcie (Hawkins) Clinkenbeard, Dellar (Hawkins) Arnett, Frank Hawkins, Laura (Hawkins) Arnett, Tressie (Hawkins) Loundon, and my Grandmother Josie Ann (Hawkins) Byrd. Two of the children died young and are buried in the Old Athens Cemetery in Baxter County Arkansas, their names were, S.T. Hawkins Born-4/1876 Died-5/16/1880 and Mandy L. Hawkins Born-2/7/1885 Died-10/19/1895. Stella and James Hawkins are both buried in the Old Athens Cemetery in Baxter County Arkansas.
Stella Hawkins is the daughter of Stephen William White Born-10/16/1808 in Spartanburg S.C. Died-1/9/1892 in Baxter County AR. and Rebecca (James) White Born 10/?/1818 in S.C. Died-10/?/1876 in Baxter County AR. Before moving to Arkansas the White's lived in Georgia. Estella "Stella" Venessa (White) Hawkins had seven brothers Stephen Melvin White Born-1840 he married Roxanna G. (Hays) White, Harvey or Harry White Born-1842, Byron "Barm" White Born-1844 in Tennessee he married Mary M. (Sanes) White, John Daniel Issac White Born-1847 in Georgia Died-1912 he married Matilda "Tildy" (Bean) White, Robert Monroe White Born-1849, Wesley Felix White Born-1854, and James Jefferson "Jim" White Born-2/4/1862 in Georgia Died- 2/8/1949 he married Mary Isabelle (Choate) White 1887 in Bakersfield Missouri.
Stephen Melvin White's Will reads like this: Stephen M. White will dated ? day of ? 1873 being now confined in house with serious illness. Leaves everything to beloved wife Roxanna G. White. Edmond D. Hays, esq. of Fulton County and Roxanna White executor esec.
Witness: S.W. Cochran, T.N. Estes and W.F. Livingston. Filed May 1, 1873.
A big thank-you to Vera Reeves for the information on his Will.
Stella had three sisters Martha Adaline (White) Cowart Born-1835 in South Carolina Died-1866 in Spring Place Murray County Georgia she married Jonathon Cowart Feb. 25, 1855 in Murray County Georgia, Nancy Catherine (White) Nix Born-1838 in South Carolina she married Aaron R. Nix, and Drucilla Elizabeth (White) Smith Born-1844 she married Carson Smith. Stephen William White and Rebecca (James) White are buried in Fluty Cemetery in Gamaliel, Arkansas.

Emery J. Byrd
Born around 1843, I think his middle initial stands for Josiah He Died 7/11/1911. He was in the Civil War in Company C. Dyer's Regiment under Col. Newton and served from 1863 until 1865 where the third finger on his left hand was shot off, he also had a flesh wound from a gun shot in his left thigh. He started getting paid 50.00 a month Pension from the Arkansas Confederacy March 11, 1901. He said he was a little Black Dutch possibly Born in MO. He married Mary Francis (Barnett) Byrd in December of 1870 in Boone County Arkansas, in 1870 they lived in Izard County Arkansas in the Conway Township. I believe I found the family of my Mary Frances (Barnett) Byrd living in the Blue Bayou Township on the 1860 Census, they are listed as J.W. Barnett 39, N. Carolina, Mary W. Barnett 35, N Carolina, Joseph Barnett 14, N. Carolina, Ann E. Barnett 12, N. Carolina, and Mary F. Barnett 9, TN. Together they had eight children, their names are, Bob Byrd, John Byrd, Ben Byrd he married Cora London on October 23, 1910, Mattie (Byrd) Schrable born April 2, 1881 died June of 1954, she married Myzra Schrable on October 19, 1902, Mittie (Byrd) Donaldson she married Riley Donaldson on June 9, 1907 Grover Cleveland Byrd he married Flo Wright on March 18, 1912, Flo (Wright) Byrd and several of her family members died of TB. Nettie (Byrd) ?, and my Grandfather William Dickson Byrd he married Josie Ann (Hawkins) Byrd on July 27, 1911. Emery Josiah Byrd had one son before he married Mary Frances (Barnett) Byrd, his name was either Joe or Harvey Byrd. The parents of Wyatt Byrd are William Byrd/Bird and Charlotte (Williams) Byrd/Bird they were married January 21, 1819, in Hopkins County Kentucky. I found Emery J. Byrd's Family on the 1850 Izard County Arkansas Census they are listed as:

Alphia(Mizell) Byrd 24, TN.
