Almost all of our readings imagined the ideal community as a sisterhood of all women. One of the Internet's greatest qualities is as a medium for gathering together likeminded people who would never have had the opportunity to meet and communicate in "real" life. The following are some of the best places on the 'net for women to gather together and participate in a form of cyber-sisterhood.
Virtual Sisterhood
A global women's electronic support network, is dedicated to strengthening and magnifying the impact of feminist organizing through promotion of electronic communications use within the global women's movement.

Amazon City a virtual city for women

The Voice of Women devoted to womens' issues such as abortion, body-consciousness and eating disorders.

Where the Girls Are
"When I started my web site in February of 1995, I decided to add links to the sites created by women. I think the first month or two I had about a dozen sites I had found. I asked viewers to send me any they found. In the beginning, it was mainly men making suggestions. Then the women started with 'will you add my site?' OF COURSE I WILL! Here we are more than a year and a half later with more than 600 sites and more coming in all the time."

Cybergrrl, the premier place for Women and Girls Online
There are a lot of sites to choose from in the Cybergrrl Webstation and there are more on the way. What's in the Webstation?

Women'space
Women'space explores how cyberspace is being used as a powerful tool for women's activism. We aim to further women's equality, to celebrate our diversity and the things we share. Women'space promotes Internet accessibility for women. Encouraging online participation by many communities of women is part of the politics of our lives.
