GREEK LETTERS UTILITY
By Adrian Cooley
Do you know your Greek Alphabet?
ABOUT THE APPLET
The GreekLetters applet can test the user's knowledge of Greek letter symbols. In its regular mode, the applet display buttons with the Greek Letter symbols on them. Once a button is clicked, the English equivalent of that button's symbol will be displayed.
The applet has a Quiz Mode option that randomly selects 10 different Greek Letters. The user clicks the appropriate Greek letter icon that matches. After 10 Greek Letters have been selected, a screen is produced showing the results of the quiz.
There is also an option to view a display of the English version of the Greek Letters. You may click the buttons to display the Greek Letters symbols.
KNOWN BUGS
Some Java applets do not perform identically in certain browsers. Java's promise of being a cross-platform language has not still been met due in part to different browsers that do not use the same Java standards. This has resulted in differences in applet performance and appearance in various versions of different browsers.
PLEASE REPORT ANY NEW BUGS TO acooley@iname.com.
In Netscape Navigator 2.0 and 3.0, the "Try Again" button that appears after the quiz option has been executed does not work.
In Internet Explorer 4.0 and Netscape Communicator 4.0 browsers, The "Try Again" button has to be clicked twice after the quiz option has been executed.
In Internet Explorer 4.0, after the "Try Again" button has been clicked to begin a new quiz, a Greek letter "button" has to be clicked to restart the quiz.
