A Wedding in the Country
Beautiful weddings since 1859

If you have been searching for a truly romantic setting for your wedding, you have just found the right place. This beautiful Victorian chapel will be a magical setting for your wedding. The intimate romantic atmosphere will bring you back to the quiet times of days past.

The chapel was built in 1859. Since it's restoration, this historic wedding chapel has provided a serene and charming setting for the marriage ceremonies of many couples of all ages and backgrounds.

The chapel has withstood the test of time and has seen nearby Saratoga Springs grow into a popular summer getaway spot. Through it all, the church has retained its unique historical character and charm. The chapel has been meticulously restored to its original glory. Everything has been lovingly preserved including the original stained glass window and the bronze wedding bell. One of the church's unique amenities is a turn of the century princess baby grand piano which is impeccably maintained for your musician's use.

The chapel contains the original hand carved pews and is already decorated with lace, ribbon and silk flowers. The pews already have pew-bows. You are free to add flowers and the accessories of your choice.

Having your wedding at this historic Saratoga County chapel will let you begin your marriage in a setting with an atmosphere of tradition and elegance without the rigid rules of other churches. Having your wedding at A Wedding in the Country will allow you the freedom of choice not available anywhere else.

This is a picture of the front of the chapel taken in the morning. Notice the bell in the bell tower. It works! The bell is rung for every wedding as the newly wed couple come down the aisle.

This picture is of a couple with the buggy on the North side of the chapel.

This picture is a photo that shows the way one of the brides wanted to decorate. She chose to have candles in the center aisle. The candle stands were rented at a local florist.

At the beginning of May, the lilacs start to bloom on the North side of the chapel.

There is a 28 acre field behind the chapel. If your lucky, you get to see the farmer mowing it. Sometimes there are deer, wild geese or turkey out in the distance.

This picture was taken on a rainy day. The Bride and Groom chose to have their wedding reception in Galway. They took a horse-drawn carriage from the chapel.

This is a picture of the chapel taken from the field behind it. Fall is beautiful here.

This Bride chose red. This is an autumn wedding that I will never forget. All the guests came dressed in Renaissance clothing.

This is the piano. The acoustics in the chapel are great. You can have any type of music you want. We will provide you with a list of all types of musicians.

This buggy was built in the 1890's. You can use it as a background for your pictures.

This picture shows the parking lot out behind the outhouse. The parking lot has an acre of parking. The outhouse was featured on the website "Outhouses of America". I am amazed at the number of children who have no idea of what an outhouse is. Don't be alarmed. We do have indoor bathroom facilities! The outhouse now holds my gardening tools.

We enjoy a unique reputation in the Saratoga region of New York and look forward to working with you on your upcoming wedding plans.
