Sublight and SlowWarp

 Sublight and SlowWarp is a set of rules I am putting together for SFB. These rules present a variant from standard play in an era before that presented in the Basic and Advanced Captains edition. To those familiar to the game there is a scale shift in these rules that must be kept in mind when reading the rules: There are 8 Sublight & SlowWarp hexes to each standard SFB hex.

 My intention behind this set of rules is to engage in combat with sublight and warp vessels. I thought up the concept of "SlowWarp" as what the major powers refer to as the early warp systems. I was looking at the history and realized some of the wars of the early periods required warp technology of some sort if they were going to happen at all, and Sublight & SlowWarp was born.

 I realized early on I had to develop the timeline to make sense out of some of my additions and modifications to the SFB background. I came across the Orion Enclave material early on and decided to use it as a springboard for the rules variant timeline as anyone familiar with that add on will likely note.

 The ships, weapons and other sysems of the era presented in Sublight & SlowWarp are not as reliable as the systems that exsist later in the SFB universe. The various weapons and defense systems have a wide range of interactions and as such combat tactics can vary from the standard game.

 

The Sublight & SlowWarp timeline is a simple list of the events that could have some coverage under the Sub&SW rules as time and talent allows.The background has some of the Orion Enclave background included.
