Explain South Ridge?
South Ridge is a community of quiet streets situated soundside near Jockey's Ridge. A quiet neighborhood setting located in the heart of "the beach" and easily accessable to several beach accesses, shopping and all activities.
Minutes to beach, how many?
A five minute drive. There are beach access's located every block or so along Beach Road with ample free parking, many with bathroom facilities, and outside showers. All Nags Head Beaches are not lifeguard protected, however there is one that is within 5 minutes from this property.
Do I have to pay to get on the beach?
If you want to pay to get on the beach, go to New Jersey.
What do I need to bring?
Linens and towels are not supplied, but can be rented from the realtor at a nominal fee. Food Lion ( major Southeastern US supermarket chain) is nearby as is Seamark Foods (a local supermarket). There is a CVS an Eckerd and a Walgreens in Nags Head and Kill Devil Hills.
What if I forgot something?
A Belk Department Store and a K-MART is in Kill Devil Hills and WAL-MART is in Kitty Hawk. There are several Wings (typical beach store) that sell everything from bathing suits to sunglasses. There's even an Outlet Mall in Nags Head.
What if I get sick or injured?
The Outer Banks Hospital is just down the road.
What about restaurants?

Is there golf nearby?
Of course (no pun intended).
Hows the fishing?
Any SCUBA diving?
The Outer Banks is often referred to as the "Graveyard of the Atlantic" due to the over 1500 wrecks in the area.

How far is Nags Head?
Obviously that depends on where you're coming from. Nags Head is about 1.5 hours from the Virginia Beach side of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel. If you use a mapping web site use the zip code 27959, the Nags Head Post Office is located just outside South Ridge.
What is the Climate on the Outer Banks?
The Outer Banks climate is tempered by the Gulf Stream with annual mean temperature of 61.9 degrees. Prevailing winds are southwest (March-August) and northwest the remainder of the year. The climate zone is classed by the USDA the same as areas further south in South Carolina, Georgia, and northern Florida.
