| 21/6/99. Five? young sparrowhawks hatched. They are shown here at two days old with their mother. | 23/6/99. The adult male (right) makes a rare and very fleeting visit to the nest. He will do all the hunting during the first few weeks. | Female standing on the far side of the nest. At the time of the picture the sky was overcast and sound of thunder rumbling in the distance. |

| 28/6/99. Six chicks are now visible. Three in the back row, then two and one sat in the front. | 30/6/99. Female preparing to leave the nest. Five of the chicks are growing well. The smallest is now less than half the size of the larger chicks. | 3/7/99. The last picture showing the sixth and smallest chick which is visible on the left of the nest and is about a third of the size of its siblings. |
