Arrival Time: As early as 6 p.m. on Friday, May 30 and check in for YOUTH is prior to youth exhibitor's meeting at 8:30a.m. Halter classes check in prior to meeting at 11 a.m. on Saturday
Stalls: 10 x 10 dirt floor box stalls with secure doors with bars.
Obstacle classes may be outside so don’t forget your sunscreen
Youth Classes ages (Junior 8-11) (Intermediate 12-14) (Senior 15-18); 8 years as of birthday, 18 years as of 1/1/08
Awards: Ribbons, Cash., and special Grand/Reserve awards
Wool Descriptions: Refer to ALSA handbook for more details. · Suri –Llama may be narrow in appearance, has a natural part that exposes the spine, lock structure to skin. · Light Wool – Minimal body wool, short neck wool with smooth legs. · Medium Wool – Mod. To long body wool, min. to mod. Neck wool, smooth to mod. Leg wool. · Heavy wool – Abundant body and neck wool with min. to abundant leg wool (i.e., leg wool at least to knee and hock.) · Non ALSA—JABL Class—must be JUST ANOTHER BROWN LLAMA (llamas may have NO white; just brown).
Llama Halter Class Ages: · Juvenile - (5mo-1yr) · Yearling - -(1year-2year) · Two Year Old - (2year-3year) · Adult - born on or before (3years and older)
Ohio Health Requirements: Llamas from within Ohio must be free of disease. Out-of-state llamas are required to have a vet certificate of good health issued within 30 days of the show. Veterinarian's ID number must appear on the certificate. Out-of-state owners must present health certificates at check in at the show.
· Produce of Dam: Must be 2 offspring, can be different sires. Please indicate name of dam on entry form. All offspring must have been shown in their respective halter classes. · Get of Sire: Must be 3 offspring, either sex but must be by at least two different dams. All offspring must have been shown in their respective halter classes. · Get/Produce: If exhibitor is not the sire/produces` owner, they must have written permission of the animal's owner and the entry must be made in the owner's name. May enter day of show.

This is a Level I show and entries are LIMITED to 130, so get your entry in early! We usually have a full roster.
LLAMA RULES: (copied from ALSA web site 2006) This show is approved by the Alpaca and Llama Show Association, Inc. All rules and guidelines for this show will be in accordance with the 13th Edition ALSA Handbook. Exhibitors must be the registered owners and make entry in the exact names (Owner and Animal) as shown on the registration certificate. All llamas entered in approved classes, with the exception of youth classes, must be registered or have passed screening with the International Llama Registry, (ILR) or the Canadian Livestock Record Corporation (CLRC). If non-breeders are not registered and wish to be in the ALSA award system and wish to show in halter, they must show in the Adult Non-breeder halter class. Registration papers or photocopies must be sent with the entry form to Show Management for verification of name and age. Failure to meet this requirement prohibits entry in the show. Non-breeder llamas must be accompanied by a registration or veterinarian certificate verifying the animal is a gelding, a vasectomized male, or a spayed or non-reproductive female. Nursing llama mothers may not be accompanied in the ring by their babies. ALSA recommends not showing nursing mothers. Llamas may not be moved from one class to another after haler judging has begun, except at the judge’s decision. |
