WICCAN SYMBOLS

These are some common Wiccan symbols:

Pentacle (5-pointed interlaced star in
circle), pentagram (same star without circle), The Goddess (full moon
between 2 crescents), The God ('Taurus' sign)
  • The Goddess is often depicted with imagery of the Moon, of Nature; or in one or all of Her aspects as Maiden (youthful and beautiful), Mother (pregnant woman), and Crone (wizened hag -- what has become the 'Halloween witch' stereotype).
  • The God is usually represented as a man with stag's horns, sometimes bull or ram's horns. If He has hooves, this usually signifies Pan. Surrounded by vines and leaves, He is the Green Man.

These are occasionally used by Wiccans:

1st, 2nd, and 3rd initiatory levels
(inverted triangle, inverted pentagram, upright triangle above upright
pentagram), ankh (looped cross), macro/microcosm (light/dark
hexagram), 4 directions (cross in circle -- 'celtic cross')

These are NOT Wiccan!:

666, inverted cross
