BMFA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS 2003 - FUN FLY

Lee Cantwell and his winning Magic machine.

SUCCESS AT LAST FOR LEE CANTWELL.

The year 2003 was a success for Lee Cantwell, having taken the National Champion Title for the FUN-FLY discipline. Lee has been a regular contender for the title over the lst few years, but this year was the one. Well done Lee and let us hope he comes back next year to defend it against some excellent competitors - both old and new.

BMFA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS 2002 - FUN FLY

At the BMFA National Championships held at August Bank Holiday 2002, three of the Oldham Club entered the FUN FLY competition and reaped great rewards.

PHILIP VANDRIES came SECOND whilst LEE CANTWELL came THIRD overall. MICHAEL ALTHAM came 17th. out of 28 entrants and did very well at his first attempt.

The week-end went very well indeed, although the weather could have been kinder to us. Whilst Oldham was having a heat-wave, we were wrapped in anoraks and boots contending with the wind as well as the cold and damp. However the success of the youngsters more than brought a warmth to the followers parts. The week-end was also graced by the presence of Graham Booth, a member whom we thought we had lost to Torquay, but he battled the elements (and his wife) to turn up and entertain the lads. Well done Graham - enjoy the divorce !!
