MODEL OF THE YEAR COMPETITION 2002.

The Model of the Year was held at Greenacres Community Centre on the 19th. of April, and even though it had been advertised and passed around by word of mouth, the turn out was very poor indeed. There were only enough models brought to run one class, that being the Scale section. As was stated at the time, the quantity was poor but the Quality was excellent. Below are the photos of the entrants models. Lee Cantwell came first with his superb 30% CAP232 (the colours were excellent) whilst Jimmy Shaw came second with a small powered model. The Best in Show went to Geoff Slater with his excellent Lysander, superbly built by him and the finish done by Jed Milhench.

The evening was enjoyed by the 15 people who took the time to turn up, and hopefully next year we will have a few more entrants. We were not sure why there were so few entrants from the other classes except to say that there has not been too much flying done for a while, so not many models have been written off and thus no new ones built. Anyway, whatever the reason, let us look forward to next year - and GET BUILDING !! That's an order.
