Ulster County has a new repeater!!

A 6m repeater with a callsign of N2WCY has been added to the area thanks to WB2YAF, N2WCY, KB2ZST, N2MCI and others. The  machine operates on 53.110 mhz output and 52.110 mhz input at 110 watts with a backup 50 watt unit. , no PL and is approx. 900 ft ASL and has excellent coverage to the South, West and East of a location near Woodstock, NY. There are transmit and recieve cavities and work off matching folded groundplane antennas.   Thanks to K2ROB for his technical help (Rob is unbelievable when it comes to his assistance). Enjoy the new capabilities!!!

New OMARC repeaters are in the works!!

The first one is a 440 band unit. N2VOT has donated a Motorola Mitrek and 4-bay folded dipole antenna, K2ROB has modified the transceiver, cans were donated by KB2RWW and N2MCI has it in his hands for testing. The search for a frequency of 447.x25 or 447.x75 (up to 449.x25 or 449.x75) output, down 1 mhz, with a PL of 77 hz is on (N2GMB) and as soon as possible, the crystals will be ordered and N2MCI will put it on-line for testing. Power out is approx. 40w and the location is to be determined; N2GMB has volunteered his location which is approx. 1100 ft ASL with good coverage to the West, South and East. The second will be a 220 mhz machine, probably located on Benedictine Hospital (they have given us prime commercial space up there!!!) This is still in the planning stages. The plan is to link these repeaters at some point as well as remote receivers into the 2m unit. An ambitious project. Thanks to all that have contributed, money, equipment, sweat and technical support.
