The Virginia Sprint Series was formed to promote enjoyable and affordable Sprintcar Racing. We have the advantage of having observed many failed attempts to reduce the cost of racing. They failed to contain the cost because, although the rules were well intentioned, they left loop holes through which you could drive an armored car full of money. What we are preventing is that money from gaining them the advantage. These rules are the result of a considerable amount of research. Our rules reflect a no nonsense approach to lower cost racing engines. We have our rules in such a way that the engine will operate in the 6500 rmp range. Since the engine will operate in this range and produce 380 to 400 hp., we can build an engine using lower cost components that will live.
The foundation of our rules is a Brodix spec head, a spec valve spring, and a maximum valve lift.These heads are ordered by the VSS inspected and serial numbered. After inspection and certification it is then distributed to club members.All engines must be a GM 305 block with approved casting numbers in place.With flat top piston. Running constant flow fuel injection.
