Oregon Action office, 3009 NE Emerson, Portland
Oregon Action is mobilizing our members to let our state Representatives
know we must stop mean-spirited attacks on the minimum wage gains made
in 1996. Specifically, action is needed on HB 2430 which allows employers
to count a portion of restaurant worker tips toward the minimum wage. HB
2468 will allow growers to make more profits and pay lower wages to farm
workers. We are focusing on a postcard campaign targeting our state representatives
and researching the Oregon Restaurant Association's campaign contribution
giving to legislators who will be voting on these bills. For info: Brian
Hoop at 503-282-6588 or oabhoop@aol.com.
