Druids...
some people think that they went extinct...
like the dinosaur...
or
the dodo bird.
But some of them are still
around. Why there's one now!

Hey buddy! Druids didn't perform human sacrifice.
That's just a myth perpetuated by the invading armies that
eventually wiped most of the Druids out of existance.
These included the Romans, the Gauls, and the Christians....

Druidism can be considered a philosophy or a religion...
Take your pick.
The basic beliefs of the Druids are a respect for nature and
a respect for knowledge.
Other beliefs include the Druid Triple Law:
1. To Know.
2. To Dare.
3. To Keep Silent.
The Druids of today are a versatile bunch. They include
Pagans, Christians, and people of other religious backgrounds.
Druids include those with rational, scientific backgrounds, as
well as those who are creative, artistic, and spiritual.
Some Druids practice magic...

(Not the card game)
Some Druids practice science and astronomy.
Some Druids spend all day writing poetry and telling stories.
These Druids are called Bards.
There are many types of Druid groups today.
There are reconstructionist Druids. They study ancient Druid
history and try to recreate the past.
There are fraternal Druids. These all male groups usually
strive for brotherhood.
There are romantic Druids. They are in it for the fanciful
stories of magic and intrigue. Some role players fall into this
category.
Famous Druids and Druid wannabes include:

(think about it)
Some Druids are unfriendly, arrogant, anal
retentive, over intellectualizing, elitist meanies. Whether they
know it or not, they give Druids a bad name, because not all
Druids are so narrow or superior acting.
We won't mention any names....

Some of these Druids are on a self-proclaimed
mission to wipe out and scoff at all the "fake" Druids
who aren't as learned and inflexible as they are, and those
Druids who can't trace their groups back to "ancient"
times.
Hey someone should tell them that they've only
been around since the 1980's, and have no direct line back to the
ancient Druids themselves. At least the United Ancient Order of
Druids can trace it's origins back to the 17th century.
The ancient Druids didn't believe in writing
anything down, so we only have secondhand accounts to go on about
what they were all about. So there are many interpretations about
the ancient Druids. No Druid organization can or should claim to
hold exclusive rights on Druidry. We should celebrate our common
Druid brotherhood and respect our differences. Druidry speaks to
each of us in its own unique way.
Some Druid groups are cool, friendly, and laid
back...

Besides plotting world domination, they...
