Introduction to Oriel | ||||||
Welcome to the 2006 catalogue.
ORIEL publishes two series: Oriel Library - music solely for
Recorders - and Oriel Collection - music for Viols and/or Voices.
This catalogue contains details about both of these series. Some titles are
common to both series but different in presentation, such as clefs, so as
to ensure their suitability for the relevant instruments. We have 8 new titles for recorders but have lost the William White fantasias for viols (stock exhausted). We have two pieces which were commissioned for SRP Festival performance; Helen Hooker's arrangement of Dvorak's Slavonic Dance in F major and Bob Berry's The Cumbrian Sartor, a composition based on old Cumbrian tunes. Philip Thorby's An Irish Suite we feel is sure to be a best-seller. It is two and a half years since the last catalogue was produced, and it will probably be as long again before the next after this one. We have therefore had to consider the ever-rising cost of materials and particularly postage, and so we have increased the price of our music accordingly. However, we wish to preserve our reputation for delivering superb value-for-money so the rise has been kept as small as possible. There are generous discounts on larger orders (see shopping basket) When you receive your music you may see some prices marked on
the covers, and these will be less than the price you have been
charged. These prices refer to the price of the music when bought at courses, etc. when postage and packing is not a factor.
We are gradually phasing out the printing of prices on the covers. |
