non-profit making publication printed
quarterly by the HELPMATES UK TENT, a branch of The Official Stan
Laurel & Oliver Hardy Appreciation Society. Our publication is the
only UK Laurel and Hardy Magazine, which is professionally
LITHO-PRINTED and published in
FULL
COLOUR.
With our magazine we concentrate on the actual persons and characters of Laurel & Hardy, as opposed to the fans, and we bring you: Rare Photographs; Articles; Laurel Letters, and Stories and Features that do not appear on our site. Fans are catered for with Readers Letters, Sales Lists; and News of Forthcoming or recently hosted Conventions. Articles sent in by readers are also encouraged and welcomed.
We are proud of the fact that our magazine has been published quarterly, and on time, for many years. We always aim to bring you the latest news on Movie Fairs, Memorabilia Shows and related Events. Those who subscribe get access to many items that are not displayed on the website. laural, lorel

Over the years we have had many articles written exclusively for the “The Laurel & Hardy Magazine” by respected authors and experts on Laurel & Hardy. For the last five years “A.J” Marriot – author of “LAUREL & HARDY – The British Tours” – has been Co-editor and Features Writer for the magazine. “A.J” not only writes for us, but shares photos and items from his vast archive, which have greatly enhanced the content of the mag.
The subscription includes ONE YEAR'S MEMBERSHIP to the 'HELPMATES UK' Tent. “Helpmates UK” is just one Tent (branch) of many, scattered throughout the world. Each Tent is run independently, but under the umbrella title of 'The Sons of the Desert.' We have many members who belong to their own local branch but then joined our branch as well, so that they can receive our magazines and purchase the merchandise we offer. We run 'HELPMATES UK' as a fully-fledged appreciation society and you are welcome to subscribe wherever you may be located in the UK, or around the world.
