My History

I grew up in a small town in southern Missouri called Mountain Grove, right in the center of the Ozarks. After graduating from Southwest Missouri State University in '93 I went to graduate school at Iowa State University. I finished my PhD in Economics in 1999, and now work as an economic researcher at ISU.

I have always been interested in the Civil War, and in particular the war in the Trans-Mississippi. I have amassed a rather large library of books on Missouri and the Trans-Miss. Over the years I have also gathered a collection of relics and artifacts. As this page progresses, I hope to add to this online museum so that others can enjoy my collection.

I am the treasurer and a charter member of the first Sons of Confederate Veterans camp in Iowa, Bowen's Mounted Rifles Camp #1759.
