Public School 229 will be an educational center offering many varied opportunities for learning.  It will be a safe environment where a love of learning will be nurtured in every child.  Students will be encouraged to be academic risk-takers; inquisitive, independent and critical thinkers; and confident, responsible citizens.  Our educational center will be strengthened by a partnership with the parent community, cultural collaboratives and the expertise of a dedicated staff.

Our school will emphasize reading through literature and problem-solving which will be enhanced through technology and the arts in various learning styles to meet the needs of each child and to promote his/her success.
