Some news...

The Sanctuary Web site has moved to the Paladin.org domain.

All links on this page point to the new site...but you can also get there by clicking below:

The Sanctuary takes its name from the first Great Dane I had the pleasure of knowing, a magnificent black boy named Paladin Ogier of Fort Putnam. In memory of my first Dane buddy, all Danes that choose me carry the name of Paladin.

While here, you can visit the current residents of the Sanctuary, or remember past residents. But be warned that some of these stories are mournful tributes to friends still missed today. Finally, there are also stories of the lives of other dogs who have graced my life.

There are many people who do fine work to improve the quality of the Great Dane by breeding or showing Danes. There are many others who buy these dogs and take good care of them. Sadly, there are still others who neglect their dogs, abandon them or simply don't understand that a dog is a lifetime commitment. This is where I try to help. Like all involved in rescue, I stand at the end of the chain of people who care about Danes. The Danes who have adopted me are all rescued from fates they did not deserve.

No Dane should be without a home.

I would be greatly remiss if I did not recommend you also visit the Great Dane Home Page maintained by the insanely cool Doug Coddington

You should also consider signing on to the Great Dane Mailing List if you are interested in connecting with Great Dane owners around the world.

 Some video!

I've got a short clip online of me hanging out with some small fawn girls if you're interested. You'll need to make sure that you have the Macintosh or Windows version of the QuickTime plug-in from Apple Computer or have otherwise assigned an application helper to .mov files.
