Just Another Day in the Life of the Occupied Territories
Most of you have never even been there so you really don't know what's its like. We live in a democratic America where handcuffing a criminal too tightly leads to claims of police brutality. In the occupied territories, we have no rights period. How would you feel if someone told you that you couldn't visit the next town over or were the subject of frequent searching? What country do you know that punishes the parents of the offender by demolishing their homes? Everything that they worked for is gone and then they question how could someone be willing to die. Maybe because they have nothing to live for. when all aspects of humanity are stripped, what else is left but to lash out against the very people who bear the responsibility. I speak on experience. I've witnessed demolishing of homes, unprovoked brutal attacks by Israeli soldiers and the disregard for human life so long as its not Israeli life. Just another day in the life of the occupied territories.
Why is it every time scores of Palestinians die, they are resorted to a number? For instance, 12 Palestinians died today in clashes with Israeli soldiers. However, when a single Israeli dies, they show you his lifestyle, his family grieving, his friends grieving and how horrible the Arabs are. They do this as a way to relate to the victim. Besides, how can we relate to a number. Numbers don't have faces. The truth of the
matter is that the Arabs are the victims here. The media should also show the families of the DEAD Palestinians so the world can see that we have feelings too. For every Israeli that dies, about 50 Palestinians die. That's only logical considering that Palestinians use rocks while Israelis use live ammunition.
