USBC Merger....
As many of you many already be aware, the merger between ABC, WIBC and YABA was approved at the National level. All bowling associations will now have one governing body instead of three. How does this affect the average bowler? It probably won't - the average bowler may see little or no change. The changes taking place will be at the association levels. The state and local associations will be holding meetings to discuss the merger and determine if the participating associations will be considering the merge at their level. The merger at the national level is mandatory while the association mergers at the state and local levels are optional. And these changes will not happen overnight; the timeline for the merger completion is 2 years (May 2006) with the first Annual USBC Meeting during the Spring of 2006.
