Richard Tyler

Richard Tyler is the earliest Tyler that has been traced but the spelling of his name varies including "Tayler" in the years before 1705. It appears that Richard Tyler married one of the daughters of Nathaniel Baxter before 1685, from records pertaining to land along Piscataway Creek and Perrys' Creek in Old Rappahannock County and Essex County, Virginia. Later records indicate that he had several wives. Richard lived on 650 acres, along Piscataway Creek.

Richard Tyler's will is dated December 4th, 1732 and proven May 21, 1734 in Essex County, Virginia. He had children Richard Tyler, John Tyler, William Tyler, Mary Tyler, Susanna Tyler.
