Northwest Binders
Club Meetings: 1st Wed of every month. 7:30 Roundtable Pizza. 10633 NE 68th, Kirkland exit 17 (70th Place Exit) West about 4 blocks by the D.O.L. 1-425-827-7292
This is the bunch of IHC addicts I hang around with. These guys have more IHC trucks than our governemnt has problems. At our last meeting, we went around and did introductions inlcuding what type of vehicle(s) you owned. No one admitted owning anything other than IHC trucks of course. Some of these guys had 4 or 5 trucks each. They part em out, fix em up, break em, then start it all over again. Seems like they all know what is going on. We take road trips about once a month to different places in the area. Sometimes they get as far adrift as Colorado and California. What a bunch of addicts. Anyway, they are mostly family types with wives and families willing to forgive their habit. They are a good bunch of guys. Meetings start around 7:30 and are an hour or an hour and a half, depending if Dale, the club president, starts rambling about his latest IHC acquisition. He has so many trucks, he has to put a trailer in front of his house so he can stack them two high. (Sorry Dale. Had to put that in.) Anyway, we are affiliated with Pacific Northwest 4x4 also, and have reps attending those meetings once a month to keep us up on the latest happenings. 1999 Northwest Roundup
I was a novice at shows, kind of driving my truck in circles trying to figure out where to go. I almost drove right off the travel ramp. Only thing I did well on was the bulls eye. Took first place on that. But then, visibility is one serious advantage the SSII has over any other IHC vehicle. Still, the veterans did their best to make me feel at home and welcome. They also kept me out of trouble. This show really embodies the spirit of IHC owners. This year, the NWBinders Roundup will not be held in conjunction with the tractor show. We will be at a different location - Harvey Field in Snohomish about 15 minutes West of last years location. Harvey Field is a couple of miles south of Snohomish right along Highway 9. Here is an excerpt from the writeup I did on the last trail run. "I put my truck in 4 low and crawled to the bottom with Roy standing on the crest and Kurt acting as spotter. Looking up the face from down below, I realized my first impression was incorrect. Everest would have been easier to climb. The first three quarters of the climb were not difficult, but deep holes near the top stopped me cold. I backed off a little and tried again, but my front tires spun and would not climb out. I backed to the bottom again and took a slightly different line with the same results. Finally, I had Kurt step back and I tried to bounce over the top, but still no go. Unfortunately, this last attempt put me on a bad line and when I backed to the bottom, I ended up dangling over the canyon with a yawning hole just behind my rear tire and my front end pointed toward nowhere." Kurt managed to pull me to safety. 1999 Northwest Roundup
