Pat Wolski's Cigar Review Site

While in Europe I tested a few Cubans. I did not like much of what I found there. That's why I only had a few reviewed on this page.
However, Florian Seroussi explained to me that I was wrong. Flo said Cubans are much better than I had indicated and Flo gave me a few names of cigars to try.
Flo was right.
I got several cigars through secret sources.
I have included my comments here on two of them so far. I must warn you that these are strong but outstanding cigars! They are not for the beginner smoker.
The * indicates the cigar is one of my top ten favorites.

Made very well. The flavor is realy great but the strength is way up there. While I was smoking it I felt like I was eating a very good tasting tobacco plant.

This one I let it rest for 3 months before firing it up. The flavor is realy super. It was not nearly as strong as the one that I did not age. It ranks right up there with the best tasting cigars I have smoked.

An outstanding cigar that you will spend 1 1/2 to 2 hours with and will enjoy until your fingers start burning.

A very good $2 cigar. Not made well but has the flavor. Too bad they arn't legal in America.

Not as good as the Montecristo made in the Dominican Republic.

Montecristo Habana - No 4 - Second review

I let this one age about 6 months. I still don't like them any better than the ones make in the Dominican Republic. However, I don't care much for them either.

The cigar is ok but, not anywhere close to being worth the price.

Cuaba Divino - Figurado

Length Gauge Draw Taste Strength Price
4" 43 Easy Excellent Moderate $ ?
This is an excellent little cigar that has plenty of flavor and does not burn too fast, so there is plenty of time to enjoy the smoke. The finish is not as long as most Cuban cigars thus it is an excellent choice for a morning or afternoon smoke.

* Hoyo de Monterrey - Epicure No. 2
Recommended by Pete Greco
Length Gauge Draw Taste Strength Price
4 7/8" 50 Moderate Outstanding Strong $ ?
This is an outstanding cigar for special occasions or after a heavy evening meal. It has a long finish that does not intenisify as the cigar smokes down. It ends the same way it starts, full of flavor, but with no bite that's common in some strong cigars. This cigar was a surprise to me because I don't like the Honduran Hoyo de Monterrey very much.
