My name is Simon Stern, I have been a collector of penny arcade slot machines and amusement machines for many years and just recently have obtained a license from the Gaming Board of Great Britain enabling me to become a dealer in vintage slot machines and gambling devices.

I have customers all over Britain and America, and I am always keen to hear from other collectors and dealers in vintage slot machines.  If you are looking for a slot machine or have any slot machines for sale, please contact me.  I pay good prices for items that I want, and I will also pay a finders fee for successful leads.

The laws in the UK differ from those in the USA.  It is perfectly legal for any person to own slot machines in this country but when you want to dispose of them you either have to sell to a licensed dealer or obtain a waiver permit from our Gaming Board that enables you, for a limited period, to advertise your machines.  This permit/waiver will only be granted for the odd occasion when a collector or individual wishes to dispose of some machines.

If sales on a regular basis are expected, then the section 27 certificate has to be obtained at a cost of approx. £3000/$5000.  You may ask why does someone need a license to deal in antiques?  Well it's a question that seems to carry the standard answer: They can be used for gambling therefore need to be covered by the act.  When was the last time you saw anyone gambling for 12 old pennies (8cents)?  As for non-gambling devices, such as grip testers, shockers, fortune-telling machines, etc. no license is needed.
