PENRALLT COASTAL CAMPSITE
“
STRIVING FOR ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY”
This campsite has been awarded Green Dragon Environmental Accreditation
from the Welsh Assembly Government for our commitment to Environmental Sustainability
What do we do?
Recycle as much of the Rubbish generated by the campers as we can
Plant trees and shrubs around the site to create more Habitats for Wildlife
Monitor closely our Water and Electricity consumption and take steps to reduce consumption
We have planted a Reed Bed to remove the last traces of waste from the septic tank
Collect Rainwater and use it for flushing toilets to save our valuable treated water for drinking
Manage the Headland to encourage the restoration of Wild Flowers and Maritime Heath
Comply with all relevant Environmental Legislation
What can you do?
Recycle your Rubbish at source…….. keep 2 carrier bags in your tent or caravan to seperate the Cans and Glass from the plastic, packaging and yukkie left-overs each day……..drop the ‘yukkie’ carrier bag in the bin; Cans and Glass go in the recycling bins, then Re-use the Carrier Bag for Cans and Glass the next day.
Put your Newspapers, Magazines and Cardboard boxes in the Paper Recycling Bin
Put your Vegetable and Fruit peelings in the Compost Bin [but not bread and cooked food which feeds the mice!]
When you have finished with a Disposable Barbeque, put the Charcoal in the compost bin and the mesh and aluminium tray in the Can Bank
Turn off the Lights when you leave the toilt/shower room
Don’t leave Water Taps running longer than necessary
Clean up after your Dog at all times regardless of where it is
