AGRICULTURAL OBJECTIVES
The agricultural side of the project aims to look into the effects of microdams on agricultural productivity and development in this arid region. While some microdams just store water for human and livestock use during the dry season, others have irrigation schemes that allow multiple cropping of some areas of land. But alongside this, it is important to monitor any long term effects - for example increasing salinity in irrigated land - and to assess optimal methods for using the stored water.
