Time Out For Inner Peace
1.
A life goal
It's
wonderful to have a goal in life -- to know
that our lives have a purpose and that we
can make a difference. Of course it's hard
to always remember this important message.
Sometimes it will seem that peace on earth
REALLY is coming. Other times it will seem
so VERY far away.
2.
A time out for peace
Whenever
we feel overwhelmed by the amount that needs
to be done and the distance we have left
still to cover, we need to take time out
for peace of mind. When we think that we
have so much to do that we don't have time
to rest or pause, this is the time we need
to stop and refocus and refuel. When we
find our selves caught up in the moment,
in a flare of anger, we need to stop and
feel inner peace for a moment before we
proceed.
3.
Many paths to inner peace
Peace
of mind is a state that we can all experience.
Yet each of us will experience it in our
own way. Each of us will describe it in
our own way -- as a gift from a higher being,
or a strength within ourselves, or a force
that unites us all... And each of us will
find our own ways to return to this state
of calmness, perfection and strength.
4.
Prayer
Prayer
will be the way to refocus for some peacemakers.
It is a chance to remember our higher purpose,
and focus on what is important, rather than
the moment we may have found ourselves caught
up in.
5.
Meditation
Meditation
for others can serve the same purpose of
calming the hectic world around us, and
seeking the stillness of peace inside, so
that we can re-channel our energies towards
the goal and purpose we have chosen for
our lives. A
novel tool for helping to center oneself

6.
A moment of relaxation
For
others, a simple moment of relaxation can
help restore the balance of purpose and
direction. We can seize this moment of relaxation
wherever we are, at any time. There are
many ways to seize the moment and transform
it into a moment of stillness. They can
all be powerful tools to help us to be effective
peacemakers.
7.
A deep breath of peace
Stopping
for a moment and taking a deep breath is
sometimes all that we need to pull us out
of a situation so that we can pause, and
refocus. Forcing ourselves to breathe slowly
and deeply can help to calm racing thoughts
that shoot through our minds.
8.
A special place of peace
A
relaxing song or gazing at beautiful scenerey
can help bring a sense of calm and relaxation.
Closing our eyes and picturing someplace
special, a place where we feel calm and
relaxed, can help us to relax. Even if it
is just for a moment, it may be all that
we need to remember what is important to
us. Remembering our priorities, remembering
to let little things that don't really matter
go, may give us the composure to turn the
tide of the moment around.
9.
Defusing Anger before it explodes
When
we feel ourselves ready to explode in anger
or frustration, we can learn to stop ourselves,
before we say or do things we might regret.
Stop. Take a deep breath. Count to ten,
slowly. Remind yourself that you want to
build bonds of friendship and understanding.
Is this really that important in the overall
picture? You want to work this out in a
way that you will not regret. You want to
have a moment to treasure instead, to feel
proud that you made this moment into a victory
for peace.

May Peace Prevail On Earth
A
great way to refocus and feel peace of
mind is to share the universal wish "May
Peace Prevail On Earth." This calming,
transforming expression of hope has been
translated into almost every language.
Hundreds of thousands of peace poles bearing
these uplifting words in native tongues
can be found throughout the world. When
we whisper, pray or meditate upon these
simple words we can change our perception.
When a moment is carrying your thoughts
and emotions somewhere you don't want
to go, stop, take a deep breath and whisper
"May Peace Prevail On Earth," knowing
you are never alone - at any moment many
others are sharing the very same wish
all around the world.
