Candles
Some are big
some are small,
setting on antique tables
in the darkened hall.
Some are tapered
slender and tall,
standing in holders
along the stone wall.
Some glow dim
while some shine bright,
shedding us light
on a cold and dreary night.
They burn and they flicker
as we draw close and whisper,
watching it's flame dancing so slow
enjoying it's warm and radiant glow.
They burn on our alters
covered with fine fabric and lace,
drawing us together as one
as we pray for peace and Thy grace.
