SOLAR MAGNETIC FIELD STRENGTH: Many models of the solar magnetic field used prior to Ulysses assumed that the solar magnetic field was similar to that of a dipole; field lines near the solar equator were thought to form closed loops whereas field lines from the poles were dragged far into interplanetary space by the solar wind. For a dipole, the field strength over the poles is twice that at the equator. Ulysses found that the amount of outward magnetic flux in the solar wind did not vary greatly with latitude, indicating the importance of pressure forces near the sun for evenly distributing magnetic flux. 6/11/99: Over the past year, a star in the Caraina Constellation of the Southern Hemisphere has doubled in brightness. How a star that is 7,500 light years away from earth could brighten so dramatically baffles astronomers. In fact, of all the stars that can be seen with the naked eye from earth - none are as mysterious and confusing as Eta Carinae Images Angels in Space They--now get this--were, "a group of 7 angels flying together," in the NGC-3532, (CARINA) three-billion-year-old star cluster.   The Vatican Message

EDITOR'S NOTE: I remember the earlier reports (there were more than one such reports from diverse missions) of angels seen in space as far back as the late-Seventies-early-Eighties.  I recall a woman astronaut.  I'm now focusing on the Soyuz T-11 and Soyuz T-12 missions. Sleuths needed here (Aleksandr, where are you?).

I am a researcher trying to understand a rumor that has been widely circulated in the USA since the 1980s--that the Cosmonauts, Savitskaya, Volk, Dzhanibekov, Atkov, Kizim or Solovyov, had an unusual encounter during the Soyuz-Salyut era.

The story here is that angels were seen by the crews of the Soyuz T-11 and  Soyuz T-12 missions, perhaps other missions as well.

Could you help us here? There are many people trying to understand the origins of this information.

In 1969 Apollo 11 astronauts brought back what appeared to be an aborted baby in a rock that was found during their historic expedition. For 24 years, NASA kept the baby's discovery from the public.
