We are currently offering three sample paks, the Natural Pak, Un-Natural Pak, and the Smack Pak, all of which are described below.
The cost of the Natural Pak is $12, the Un-Natural Pak is $16 and the Smack Pak is $12. Shipping is not included in the cost of any of the paks.

The Natural Pak

This Pak contains approximately one tablespoon (according to my calculations, enough to color 6-12 one pound batches of soap) of each
of the following pigments:

Yellow Oxide
Ultramarine Pink
Ultramarine Violet
Red Oxide
Hydrated Chromium Oxide
Chromium Oxide Green
Ultramarine Blue (Medium Shade)
Ultramarine Blue (Dark Shade)
Brown Oxide
Black Oxide

The Un-Natural Pak

This Pak contains a .15cc measuring spoon and approximately one-half tablespoon (according to my calculations, enough to color
up to 40 one pound batches of soap) of each of the following dyes:

FD&C Yellow #5
FD&C Yellow #6
D&C Yellow #10
D&C Red #28
D&C Red #30 Lake
D&C Red #33
D&C Red #33 Lake
FD&C Green #3*
D&C Green #5
FD&C Blue #1*

*When used in cold-processed soap, the FD&C Blue #1 and FD&C Green #3 yield a shade of purple - not blue nor green as you might expect!

Dyes, also available by the jar, but not packaged in the Un-Natural Pak . . .

When used in a white, cold-processed, soap base,

FD&C Red #40 produces a tomato red;
D&C Green #8 an unusal lemon/lime "Mountain Dew" color;
D&C Orange #5 produces a shade of cantelope; and,
Black Dye Blend will -- in my experience -- will produce a deep, deep blackish burgandy!

Smack Pak Banner

While the Smack Pak *kit* has been discontinued, the Smack Pak dyes are still available for purchase . . . the cost is $12.
This sampler contains a .15cc measuring spoon and approximately one-half tablespoon of each of the following dyes:

D&C Red #6 Barium Lake
D&C Red #7 Calcium Lake
D&C Red #21 Aluminum Lake
D&C Red #22
D&C Red #27 Aluminum Lake
D&C Red #28
FD&C Red #40 Lake

Tinting/Shading Banner

Titanium Dioxide is billed as "the greatest covering and tinting power of any white pigment." It's used in a wide range of products ~ everything from nail polish to candy, paint to eye makeup, Coffeemate to ink and, of course, soap! Eight ounces of the oil-dispersible titanium dioxide is available for $4.50 plus shipping. While eight ounces of the water-dispersible titanium dioxide is $5.00 plus shipping.

On the other end of the spectrum is a Black dye, which is offered for shading purposes. Be forewarned, in my experience, this black dye does not produce black soap. If your objective is black soap, you'll achieve the best results using Black Oxide. This black blend contains FD&C Yellow #5, FD&C Red #40 and FD&C Blue #1. A Petit Jarre of Black Dye Blend is $13.
