Some of my poems inspired by IRC!
SUMMERTIME!
Ok, you say where is the next rhyme?
Durn I've been doing so much ircing I haven't had time.
Just a few verses as I sit at my puter and compose.
Thoughts of it all as wonderful as a pretty rose.
Logging in to 50plus each day is a wonder to be had.
Always someone to talk to and never to be sad.
Like a coffee shop or bar which caters to everyone's need,
Lots of neato stuff on the screen for everyone to read.
Sometimes it is nutsy and sometime very caring.
As with each other, our feelings we are sharing.
The laughter flows along with the tears I am sure.
Wouldn't you all with these thoughts- now concur?
Life in this channel is real life and so true to form.
We have the good, ugly and sad which is the true norm.
Together I'd like to think that we really do have a ball.
To enjoy summer, soon around the corner will be fall.
Enuf for now, time to log on and head to irc.
Hope this makes you chuckle over your tall iced tea.
For heading into 50plus can be everyone's home.
And your hair, you don't even have to comb.

More Woodsy Whimsy!!
I shud be sleeping, but am mellowing out, in these hours so wee.
Such memories of the summer, the #50pluskateers on undernet irc.
Hasn't it just been such a blast? A wonderful way to have such a ball?
Each of us with different memories as we now head into the late fall.
Adding to the home page ahhhhhh so many more bios and pics,
Helping anyone wanting to know, who is behind all the nicks?
As the web and irc keep growing as I am sure that it will,
Many links to the home pages, this #50plus group will soon fill.
It rocks as well with the sound.wav sent from puter to puter.
Some are sending a message, others just couldn't be cuter!!
We discuss most anything? Most of us think this is such fun!
When we get home, to the puter is not? The first place we run?
The many Bashes were fun, plans in the works are for more.
Some of us hitting the road, others into the air will then soar.
Heading out to meet friends and enjoy fun with our peers.
With lots of laughter and of course in parting....... some tears.
The long winter will arrive. We on #50plus shouldn't feel dread.
For together we will gather on the channel, to enjoy the time ahead.
Sharing the splits, flooded by the "hackers" and of course the laggggg!
And as of Nov.1st, having to share a password with W, the old hag!
