The Northern California Bass Club seeks to promote interest in the Bass by providing a forum for networking and idea sharing. NCBC is dedicated to education and offers opportunities to explore Bass issues, problems and solutions. You are invited to join the NCBC members from all over Northern California who share a common love of the Bass.
NCBC was chartered at a meeting attended by bassists Barry Green, Stephen Tramontozzi, Pat Klobas, Allan Droyan, Karen Horner, and Phil Serna. Through the support of the San Francisco Symphony Education Department's new "Young Bassists" program, the NCBC initiated a plan to solicit membership, hold 3 bass bashes each year and publish the NCBC newsletter.
Our meetings, "Bass Bashes", usually held at the San Francisco Symphony's Zellerbach Hall, feature speakers, performers, teachers and bass experts. Professionals, students, parents of students, amateurs, music industry professionals, bass makers and friends of bassists are encouraged to join the organization, attend the Bass Bashes and take advantage of the gatherings and dissemination of `bassic' knowledge to the bass community. The meetings are enlightening, entertaining and inspirational.
