I began writing for
WeekEnding with Lee "Budgie" Barnett in 1993 - mostly because
we happened to live in the same house (with three other people)
in East Finchley.
We went to our first meeting on a Wednesday and
heard our first sketch, Ten Little Known Pressures On
Cabinet Ministers, broadcast that Friday. We were commissioned
in the next season of the show and continued writing together, until
the summer of 1994, when I moved to Greenwich and Budgie got married and
moved to New Barnet.
After the end of the 1994-1995 series, Budgie
went on to write for Vince Hanna and I went off to
make more money lecturing at Rose Bruford College for Drama.
According to the Teaching Schedule, I was teaching PLAY ANAL. No one,
including the students, seemed to suspect it might be short for anything.
Perhaps it wasn't.
These are a few of our sketches from
WeekEnding.
Thanks, Budgie. |
