Member Spotlight:   Sally Smart

Always cheerful and willing to lend a hand, Sally Smart has been a Toastmaster for just over a year and a half. As an officer of the club, Sally currently acts as Secretary for Plaza Toastmasters.

Sally first learned about Toastmasters when a cousin of hers became a member. Humorously, her mother remarked that before Toastmasters this cousin didn’t have much to say. After Toastmasters they couldn’t get him to shut up.

For the past nineteen years Sally has been employed by Highwoods Properties, the company that owns the Country Club Plaza. Her work involves meeting and speaking with the public on a regular basis. Sally credits Toastmasters with helping improve her listening skills and her ability to think on her feet as well as greatly improving her confidence level.

Sally’s immediate goal is to achieve Toastmaster's Competent Communicator award by the end of June.
