Aside from the planets and the Orion Nebula,  this is probably the best known object in the evening sky and the  one that got  me seriously started in amateur astronomy . . . M31, the Andromeda Galaxy.  This image is the fine work of  Mr. Jason Ware, one of the foremost astrophotographers in the world.
