I can remember growing up in the late 1970's and early 1980's playing Atari 2600 with my brother and the other neighborhood kids. We played for hours and hours. Kaboom!, Chopper Command, Football, and Pac-Man were the neighborhood favorites. I can remember flipping Space Invaders, finishing Adventure on level three, and being the neighborhood Football champ. For the time, it was cutting edge technology. Eventually our Atari 2600 was put away in the closet and long forgotten, later to be given away.
A couple of years ago a friend of mine told me about an Atari 2600 emulator he had found on the internet. I downloaded the emulator and tried it out, it brought back a lot of memories, but playing Atari 2600 games on a PC wasn't the same as the real thing, so I began my search for the classic system. With no problem I was able to find one through the internet, as well as all the games my brother and I used to have.
During this search I discovered hundreds of games I never knew about. I don't consider myself a collector. Rarity and label variations mean nothing to me. I enjoy discovering new games and the history behind them. I hope this web page brings back memories for the original players of the Atari 2600, and introduces the classic console to a new generation of video game players.
