Never Separated From God

For I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8:38,39

Once I had a dream in which everything in the world as I knew it, had changed. In my dream, I did not know where I was or where I was supposed to go. I was even unsure of the time or the year. I did not even realise that I was dreaming! Everything seemed so real. I felt frightened and alone.

Yet, as I was worrying I thought about god. God had not changed, he was still there. God was still with me. "God," I thought to myself, "is God even in this unusual foreign 'dream' world." He is still my God even during a nightmare, whether I am awake or asleep. No matter where I was or what I was doing or thinking, God always remains the same.

Even if I was on the planet Saturn, or traveling through space billions of light years away, I would never be any further from God. No matter when or where I am, I am always near to God. Even if I was thousands of leagues beneath the sea, God would still be with me. No matter what, nothing could separate me from God.

I quickly woke up from my dream. I was greatly relieved that none of it was real. Then I thought about my dream. I thought about god, and about how he was with me, even during a dream. I truly began to believe that no matter where I was or what was happening that God would always be there.

Where can I go from your spirit? From your presence where can I flee? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I sink to the nether world, you are present there. If I take the wings of the dawn, if I settle at the farthest limits of the sea, even there your hand shall guide me, and your right hand hold me fast. Psalm 139:7-10

Even if you somehow found yourself in an unusual place such as this, you could be sure of one thing: God is still with you.

No Matter Where You Are...

God is our refuge and strength. Therefore we will not fear, even thought he earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling. The Lord is with us. God is our refuge. Psalm 46:1-37

Even though we may feel alone or frightened, we can be confident that God has not abandoned us. Even Jesus at the garden of Gethsemane was deeply troubled and distressed. "My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death," He told his apostles Peter, James and John. (Mark 14:34) At such times, when we are lonely, frightened or depressed, we must remember God's neverending love and His will for us. Jesus, when dying for our sins, in order that we may have eternal life, set an example for us to follow, when stating to the Father, "not as I will, but what You will." Not only can you be assured that God is always with you, you can be comforted that you have a God who loves you and knows exactly what you are going through.

Never Alone...

*Even if everyone in the world left you, God would never leave you:

Can a mother forget her infant, be without tenderness for the child of her womb? Even should she forget, I will never forget you. Isaiah 40:15

*God was with you even before you were born:

Truly you have formed my inmost being; you knit me in my mother's womb. I give you thanks that I am fearfully, wonderfully made; wonderful are your works. My soul also you knew full well; nor was my frame unknown to you when I was made in secret. Psalm139:13-15

*God knows everything about you:

O lord, you have probed me and you know me; you know when I sit and when I stand; you understand my thoughts from afar. My journeys and my rest you scrutinize, with all my ways you are familiar. Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know the whole of it. Psalm 139:1-4

Jesus Gives Us Victory Over Death

Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears my word and believes him who sent me, has eternal life; he does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life. John5:2

Do not lose heart. Though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being renewed everyday. For this slight momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, because we look not to the things that are seen but unseen, for the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal. 2Cor4:16-18

A Decision That Is Up To You!

God created us out of his great love for us so that we may be able to have a personal relationship with him. But, as a result of our free will, we have chosen to exclude God from our lives by turning away from him in order to follow our own desires. This saddens God, but because he is just he must punish our sin; that punishment is eternal separation from God. But because of God's great love and mercy for us, he does not want even one of us to perish in eternal hell. As verse John3:16 states, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life." Jesus Christ died for our sins, so that we may live and share in eternal happiness with God in heaven. After his death on the cross, Jesus was raised from the dead as we will also be raised. Jesus himself said this: "I am the ressurection and the life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live." John11:25 God has given each and everyone of us the free will to choose to have a life long relationship that will last eternally.

Behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age. Matthew28:20
