Sweet comforting darkness like a lover's kiss
Hiding from the daylight's pervasive prying eyes
For the once soothing sunny skies
Have become just another adversary to despise
The probing searchlight of the day
Mercifully extinguished and swept away
Replaced by the cool tranquil tide of the night
My spirit soars free unencumbered by the light
