the show just goes on
just another act in life's comic-tragic play
another scene unfolds
the same stale tale retold in a different way
a ridiculous farce seemingly with no semblance
of a plot
perhaps it all does make sense, but then again,
probably not
when the final curtain falls
there are no curtain calls
no congratulations
no standing ovations
just another darkened empty stage
just another starkly unmarked page
