First things first: The Dave Page will feature the obsessions and observations of The Soule Man, ex-Tearjerker, Record Collector Extraordinaire, and damn fine Ballroom Dancer! This will be a special Beatle and McCartney Site, so stay tuned...

Recently we once again took part in A Tribute to Lou Reed, our favorite Syracuse University alum. This was the Third Annual Benefit for Syracuse Community Radio -- which is now up and broadcasting! The show took place at Happy Endings Coffeehouse in Syracuse on Thursday, March 2, 2000. For more information on local Syracuse music you can surf over the Central New York Music Pages and the Syracuse Folk Music resource pages.

Don Krider, Pop Fan Extraordinaire, has a new site in the works, Power Pop News, that will link you into a myriad of Too Gear Places, from the Raspberries (and all their solo projects) to Pop Superman Robbie Rist and his many endeavors, to new "16 Magazine" Certified Heart-Throb Kyle Vincent! A must-visit for Power Pop aficianados!

Another early group of all-girls were The Catholic Girls, who have a neat website and a re-release of their album. Gail and Roxy are planning to play again soon, so be on the look-out!

The Plimsouls: KOOL TRASH site is OUTASIGHT, psychedelic (or just plain PSYCHO!), and a MUST SEE! Eddie Muñoz and his fellow 'Souls are back in form -- with new drummer, the infamous Clem Burke, on board -- and ready to frighten the airwaves once more. Their latest KOOL TRASH is available ON ORDER from the site ONLY -- so, if it is TOO COOL for corporate America, you know it is GOOD STUFF!

Paranoid Lovesick -- the madmen of Cleveland -- are back again, and now they have infested the World Wide Web as well. Someone STOP them before they play again! Go to their site to see what I mean! OH -- The Humanity!!!

One of my old pals from the scene, the Inimitable Orbit, has a new site dedicated to his band, The Saturn V. The guys play a way cool brand of surf-space-party music and put on a wild show. They are a must-see if you are in the Bay Area!

Gary Frenay's Home Page will link you into this Pop Singer/Songwriter who was one of the founding members of The Flashcubes, that other legendary Power Pop band from Syracuse and the band that inspired The Poptarts! The 'Cubes have a NEW CD out that is an overview of their music since 1977! If you missed their recent Reunion Show -- well, be there or be square!

That Proctologist of Pop, the man who probes the inner workings of the Music Scene, our own Doctor Bristol's Musical Prescription is back in full swing and accepting Walk-In Patients at the Doc's centrally-located site. Check into the Doc's comments and insights into what's ailing and what's wailing in the Music Biz!

Beatnik Beat is the wonderful and informative online Go-Go's fanzine put out by DeDe. She has many photos, articles, reviews, and fun stuff on the girls and their solo careers, including the Delphines and froSTed. A must for you Girl Group groupies.

I'm a member of the Society for Cinema Studies . Their SCREENsite is a mecca for those into Film Studies (as am I) and has links to other cinephiliac sites. Cary Grant Maven Jenny "The Nipper" Curtis maintains two fabulous sites: The Shrine to Cary Grant and The Crackpot Film Critic. Both are MUSTS for any Cinephile. The Shrine to Cary: Master of All that is Urbane! is one of the finest film sites ever -- that is certified (and so is Jenny, but we won't talk about THAT)! At the Crackpot Film Critic you can read my paper on The Quiet Man, as well as reviews, articles (with a heavy leaning to Cary and the Screwball Comedy, of course), and lots of links to kewl film places! It comes with the McGear Seal of Approval.

I was an undergrad at Hiram College. It's a little place in the Amish Country of Ohio -- we used to call it "Brigadoon" because we felt so insulated there -- a perfect place to dream away four years. I'm from Cleveland, so I'm a dedicated Mocker (a Mod and a Rocker): Don't miss The Rock and Rock Hall of Fame Museum if you happen to pass through town. You can't miss it -- it's that big old pyramid by the Lake. And stop by the Beatles exhibit -- many gear fab items therein, although they could use more PAUL stuff (couldn't we all?)!

I am a student of British Culture and Trashy phenomena, so the infamous Hugh Grant incident was right up my section of Sunset Boulevard! As I was researching a paper to give at the Society for Cinema Studies, I made up this handy-dandy Hugh Grant Timeline for those who would follow the strange journey into Fame of Our Naughty Boy! A couple of lovely pix included!
