About the Artist . . .

I guess that's me, Polly Nelson. I live in Washington, D.C., and have been working with polymer clay for a little over 6 years (I know that because I watched the last summer Olympics while conditioning Fimo by hand--an unforgettable experience!).

I read about the technique in Threads magazine and could tell right away it was the medium for me. Back in the dark ages (circa 1970), I was a weaver, and I find the design considerations to be very similar--using a 3-dimensional medium to create 2-dimensional images.
