Services to Life Saving Mark Shakles Another tireless year of work from Shakles. Mark somehow has maintained levels of enthusiasm and conviction in the face of ambivalence and apathy from the rest of us which would have driven a weaker man to distraction. Not only an ideas man, Mark is always seen as the one to make stuff happen. Another splendid Brownsea Swim (in spite of me nearly losing the half-swim results- oooops) organised almost solely by Mark pays enormous credence to this. In spite of having stepped down as Chairman, perhaps due to an understandable desire to actually have a life, Mark has put in supreme amounts of time and effort into the club. Thanks Mark. |
