To use the Chatline you need a java-enabled browser (for example Netscape 2.0 32-bit) otherwise you won't see anything exiting happen on this page
You can install your own chatline on your own webpage. Just get the package with all needed classfiles and documentation: chatline.zip (~30kB) .
SORRY, a bug in the chatline made it impossible to use the chatline-package which was available for download from 18.10 - 2.11.96 ! I am very sorry of this. Please mail me if you are experiencing any problems with the new version.
Update 5.5.97: Some browsers had problems. Either they showed a 'dummy'-chatpartner or didn't show anything. This problems should be solved with the new release.
When the applet has loaded (give it about 30 seconds time), you will be asked to enter your name.
After connecting to the chatline you will see on the left hand two lists.
The first show the people you can chat with. To connect with somebody, select the name in the first list and click on connect.
The second list shows the people you are connected to. To disconnect select the name in the second list and click on disconnect.
To chat, simply enter text in the Textline under your name and press the Return-key.
You can connect to as many chatpartners as you like, but it will be a mess, if you connect with many.
