Withdrawing From Class

The new drop procedure is covered in the Class attendance of the catalog and reads: Students are expected to attend regularly all classes in which they are enrolled. Students have the responsibility to attend class and to consult with the instructor when an absence occurs. If a student is unable to complete a course in which they are registered, it is the student's responsibility to withdraw from the course by the appropriate date Thursday, April 8, (See Campus Calandar with a "W" grade. If the student does not withdraw on or before that date, they will receive a performance grade, usually a grade of "F". Withdrawing from a course is a formal procedure which you must initiate. I cannot do it for you. Failure to do this will result in a grade usually of "F". If a student is unable to complete all of the required work for a course, they have the option with the instructor's concurrence to petition for an Incomplete grade. This is a contractual grade, which must be approved by the Division administrator, and where the conditions for the "I" grade to be removed is specified within the contract. Should the student fail to fulfill the contractual obligations within a 90 day period, the contract is declared null and void, and the student will receive the performance they would have received prior to the Incomplete grade.

Extra Credit Policy

Extra Credit points may be earned for each exam in the form of Take Home Quiz assignment or Pre Test. The student has the choice of taking an on-line the Take Home quiz in order to receive extra credit points that will be added to the exam result. The Take Home Quizes will be similar to the exams.

Make-up Policy

Those who would like to improve a previous exam grade will be eligible for a make-up exam one week before the final exam date. The make-up exam will be given in the Testing Center (Bldg A). The make-up exam will be cover all material covered on the one hour exam that was your lowest score. The grade made on the make-up will constitute your grade for the exam in the gradebook unless the grade is lower than your lowest exam grade. It is necessary to sign up with the instructor before taking the make-up exam indicating your name and exam that was your lowest score.
