About the Model kit
These model kits were produced by Mojo Resin. Each figure is cast in solid resin.

I made the bases for these kits myself using Balsa Foam and the Monster Customizing kits.
I also used the big machine from the Aurora Robin model kit for the Frankenberry base and the tree from the Aurora Batman for the Fruit Brute base.
The boxes were made with a photo printer and a heavy stock paper.   Although I love these kits, they are still incomplete.
It would be great if Mojo Resin did the Yummy Mummy figure to go along with the other Monster Cereal Characters but unfortunately I don't think that the Yummy Mummy character is memorable enough for them to create a model of him.
However, I've seen less memorable characters that have been cast in resin so I've learned to say, "Never Say Never" in the resin world.

About the Cereal
Fruit Brute was the fourth in the series of Monster Cereals.
I can distinctly remember when this cereal was first introduced in 1975 because my Stepfather was in the United States Navy and my family was stationed in Puerto Rico.
I'd see the commercials for Fruit Brute (with the Howling good taste of FROOOOOOT) and I'd howl just as loud as he did because I wanted to try it.
Unfortunately, the Navy Commissary (the only grocery store that we had) was a day late and a dollar short with this particular item.
As luck would have it, our "Overseas" duty ended shortly after this and we were about to return home to the states.
My Grandmother called and asked what kind of cereal I wanted (because we were going to stay with my Grandparents for a few weeks upon our return) and I told her that I wanted to try these two new cereals, Fruit Brute and Freakies.
She must have thought that I was a bit freaky, myself but nonetheless, she picked up two boxes (each) of the two cereals.
I was in love with the NEW Monster cereal but Freakies was another story.
Most of the resources on the Internet say that Fruit Brute was discontinued in 1983.
I don't agree because I can remember NOT being able to find it long before then.
Also, by 1983 the other three monster's boxes had changed from the "Big Face" versions to the versions where they (the Monsters) were pouring milk and/or holding a spoon next to a cereal bowl. (using full body shots of the Monsters).
I guess the date isn't really as important as the fact that we've lost our pal, Fruit Brute.
In 1987, General Mills tried to re-release the cereal (only slightly changed) with a new character called Yummy Mummy.
The whole purpose of this section of my website is to give the Monster Cereals the respect that they deserve, if you'd like to see Fruit Brute (or any of the other Monster Cereals) back in your local grocery store, contact "General Mills" and demand your Monsters!
