Hi - I'm Glenn Paulsen, creator of Paulsen's Puppets..........

After I graduated from Pratt in Brooklyn, NY, I studied with Broadway designer Peter Harvey, worked with Muppet designer Kermit Love (creator of Big Bird), and was then assistant to Puppetmaster Bil Baird. I then formed my own performing and production company, Paulsen's Puppets, in NYC.

The picture above is of our updated (but traditional!) 2-man Punch and Judy show, complete with music, singing and effects, all performed live. Our 14 character show lasts 35 minutes.

Punch and his voice are performed live by Glenn Paulsen.

THE DRAGON

Below is our 25-foot Medieval Dragon, always a big hit. We perform "Punch" and bring out our fire-breathing dragon at the Medieval Festival at the Cloisters in NYC, and at many other festivals throughout the year, complete with smoke and sounds our dragon has also appeared twice in the Macy*s Thanksgiving Day Parade!!

PUPPET ARCADE

At left and below are images from Puppet Arcade, an exhibition we install in museums and corporate lobbies.  Another version of this is inside our travelling 14 foot Puppet Trailer which opens up at outdoor events.  This also comes complete with a full marionette performing stage.  Puppet Arcade is a fantastic audience participatory show where you are the puppeteer, and you pull the strings. Step right up!! It is fully equipped with lights, musical instruments, sound system and special effects.  Puppet Arcade is like stepping off the boardwalk into a giant fantastic funhouse.

Our exhibition opens on Sepember 19th, 1998. Glenn has created a special exhibition about cultural diversity, with masks and costumes made from genuine materials, from some of the countries we have visited in our travels around the world!!

On September 27th, 1998, come see Punch and Judy, the Dragon and our Puppet Trailer Arcade Exhibition at the Medieval Festival at the Cloisters in Manhattan (Take the "A" train to 190th street), P&J live shows at 2PM and 3PM.

On December 4th join us at the 12th Annual Miracle on Madison festival.  The festivities include the Puppet Trailer Arcade Exhibition.

Paulsen's Puppets welcomes your interest - prices and schedules are flexible. All associated arts: sculpture, molds, costuming, direction, production are at your service; so give us a call, wherever you are!!!  Price lists, additional biographies and references are available too.
