Features of QuickWrite

When engraving thousands of part numbers, you do not need the flexibility of MillWrite. Rather, the ideal solution is for you to specify only the part number, and perhaps the size of the letters. The other engraving parameters (such as the font and the spacing between letters) can remain fixed.

QuickWrite is intended to solve this problem by providing you with only the parameters you need. QuickWrite is customized when you buy it to fit your particular needs. You specify the engraving parameters that remain the same from one engraving job to the next, and QuickWrite never asks the users for those parameters.

QuickWrite reduces the chance of operator error to a minimum, and it is so simple to use that no training or manual is needed.

For some examples of what QuickWrite can do:

  • If you frequently engrave part numbers on flat surfaces, and you want to specify only the height of the letters and the X-Y location, then QuickWrite will prompt you for only that information. You will not have to bother setting tools, spacing between letters, or fonts.
  • If you frequently engrave part numbers on a cylinder on a 4th axis, and if you want to specify only the radius of the cylinder, then QuickWrite will ask you only for that information, and then it will create an NC program for your 4th axis.
  • If you want QuickWrite to send the NC file to the mill via a serial cable after you enter the part number to engrave, then QuickWrite would transmit the file automatically rather than ask you if you want to save the NC file on disk.

  •   Free Working Demo of QuickWrite

Click here for a zip file of the QuickWrite Working Demo that runs on a Mazak Fusion 640 controller or a computer:
    QuickWrite_Demo_2005.zip

Unzip that file into a folder of its own, and run the executable inside it, QW_F640FlatOr4th_demo.exe

That particular demo can also run on the Mazak Fusion controller, and the little buttons along the bottom correspond to the buttons on the Mazak.

To install on the Mazak, copy it to a floppy disk, put it into the Mazak in the folder called:
    "C:\Custom Display"

It has to be in that folder or else the Mazak controller won't understand it. Then QuickWrite should show up in the list of programs to run.

(Call or send email if you have trouble with the demo)

    Prices

    QuickWrite is $250.
If you want special features, customizing it can add anywhere from $50 to hundreds, depending on what level of complexity you want.

Try the demo and then think about what sort of prompts you would would like to have. Then call or email to discuss your needs.
